Chris Prestia is a professional keyboard and bowed-string teacher and player, vocalist, amateur composer, and hang-glider pilot. He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees, both of them in organ performance and sacred music, at Marywood University and Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music, respectively. He's performed internationally, including in New York, Detroit, Philadelphia, and Devon County, UK, and has performed in several world premieres with award-winning ensembles.
As a student, Prestia owed much of his success to natural talent, but when the music got tough he struggled to keep up. As a passionate and dedicated teacher later in life, when his focus was on his students' success instead of his own, he was able to decode the methodology of practicing to help them succeed. After seeing his students' successes he decided to try his methodology on himself and discovered a deep well of unrealized musical potential. Now he has made it his life's work to ensure nobody is held back by their practice technique like he was.
